About me

Who I am and how I work.

Christopher von Könemann · Operations consultant for mid-market companies

I'm drawn to complex tasks, ideally where someone has already said it can't be done.

Düsseldorf · Mandates across Germany

I think my way into a company, listen, and find a path together with the people on site that measurably improves the starting position. Self-employment was not a decision against something, it was a decision for the tasks where I have the biggest lever. My network brought the first mandates before I had gone looking for them. That showed me early on that the direction was right.

My home is operations: purchasing, production, logistics. Before this I was COO in a mid-market corporate group with plants in several countries. That is where you learn what control means: setting limits and carrying the consequences when they were wrong.

My approach

Strategy and implementation from one hand

I accompany the whole journey, from analysis to handover. When I leave, it should work without me.

Fact based

Understand first, then start

I build a solid picture of reality from data, conversations and processes. That usually takes one to three weeks.

Hands-on

Close to implementation

I accompany the process on site, on a fixed rhythm and with a clear escalation path when things stall.

Exit oriented

I work my way back out

What we build stays in place: documented, handed over, sustainable. The benchmark is that it keeps running without me.

Working together

What companies bring me in for

Mid-market companies from around €20 million revenue, open to any industry. The client is management, often prompted by shareholders or banks.

Results & Operations

P&L is under pressure, the cause is unclear

You know the result needs to improve, but not exactly where the lever sits. That is exactly my starting question.

Results & Operations

Post merger, crisis or restructuring

Two organisations need to grow together, a crisis needs stabilising, or a fundamental change needs structuring. I bring the capacity and the outside view that is often missing internally.

Organisation & AI

The agent runs, the result stays the same

Nobody has an answer to who is responsible for the limit. You want an organisation that can hand decisions to machines while keeping the responsibility.
